For psychology and therapy practices

AI documentation for therapists and psychologists

You want to stay with the client, not with your notes. Docdemic drafts the progress note from the session in the format you use, and you decide what goes into the record.

Where the documentation time goes

  • Notes written from memory

Sessions run back to back, so progress notes get written hours later and lose the detail of what the client actually said.

  • Different formats for different notes

Intake assessments, treatment plans and session notes each have their own structure, and every one has to be written by hand.

  • Writing while listening

Taking notes during the session pulls attention away from the client at the moments that matter.

What Docdemic does for you

  • Progress notes in your format

Docdemic transcribes the session and writes a DAP or BIRP note in your template. You edit and approve before it is saved.

  • Intake and treatment plans

Draft an intake assessment from the first session and a treatment plan with goals and interventions you discussed.

  • Record live or upload

Record in the room, or upload an audio file after the session. Whether and what to record is your decision.

  • Between-session check-ins

Invite a client to answer a few questions you choose on their phone between sessions. Their answers are summarised for you when you write the next note.

  • Private by design

Data is stored in EU data centres and your content is not used to train AI models. Docdemic does not use OpenAI. US practices can request a BAA.

  • Research add-on

For clinicians who also do research: literature search, interview transcription and statistics in one add-on.

Frequently asked questions

Does it record the whole therapy session?

It can, if you choose to. You can also record only part of the session, or dictate a summary afterwards. You decide what is recorded.

How is client consent handled?

The clinician decides whether to record and obtains consent according to local rules and professional guidelines. Docdemic does not record without you starting it.

Will the note include everything the client said?

No. The note summarises the clinically relevant content in your template. You review it and remove or add anything before saving.

Are check-ins used to monitor clients between sessions?

No. They only collect what the client chooses to report, in answer to questions you set, and summarise it for you at the next note. They are not a monitoring or alerting tool.

Is my clients' data used to train AI?

No. Customer content is not used to train AI models, data is stored in EU data centres, and Docdemic does not use OpenAI.

Does it work for sessions in other languages?

Yes. Transcription and notes work in more than 30 languages.
